(00:00): So like our core values, we actually spelled it out as BARNDO. So the B in BARNDO is to be the best at everything we do. We are the best builder, we have the best product, and we have the best people.
(00:10): B for BARNDO stands for we’re the best, so that’s something that I’m always striving to be. So I’m not perfect in everything, but I’m always trying to achieve just being the best in every area and serving the clients well.
(00:25): The always growing part is a situation where it is not a business correlation where we always want our business to be growing, but we want people as individuals that work for us, we want them to be growing. We want them to grow a habitat here where they’re always evolving into the better person.
(00:42): The next one’s R, and that just means we really love what we do and that’s just kind of natural. When you surround yourself with a bunch of the best people who are committed to the same goal, you can’t help but love it. But we really love Barndo. You ask anybody that works here, they love Barndo and they love their position inside the company.
(00:57) The next one’s special to me and that is never stop giving. And that’s something that we just do as a company. It’s not just about the end of the day, how much money did the company make, how did this work, what is the product like? But we want to give back to our community. And so we donate money to some of the local charities here in the upstate. We have a real big emphasis on special needs and limited mobility children. And so we partner with some different charities that assist there.
(01:22): Probably the D, the doers, because I think everyone here, we all wear a lot of different hats besides ones that our title is necessary just because smaller company, we’re a startup, so we all have to take on multiple roles. And I think it shows in our people that we are doers and we’re not ones that we just want to sit back.
(01:41): I would really say the core value that first comes to mind is our legacy drives us. So it’s really cool to think about people that are building these dream homes, forever homes. They’re going to raise families in them, have lots of happy and maybe challenging memories as well in them. At the end of the day, we helped them build that and we were able to facilitate that with them. And so I think that’s really cool to know that years down the road, there’s going to be a couple out there and they may look back on building their dream home and maybe I was a part of that and our team was a part of that. So that’s really cool.
(02:13): At the end of the day, people aren’t going to remember what you did and what you said. They’re going to remember how you made them feel. And we want to redefine how this looks in business. A lot of times, people get to the end of their build and they hate their builder. We don’t want to create that. We want to create something where there’s a lasting memory and they remember, hey, we went above and beyond to help you achieve this because this is oftentimes the last home people built. This is their biggest investment for sure. So we do that. And then, of course, we want to leave something bigger than ourselves.

TJ Norris (00:00): So The Barndo Co process is a trusted, tried and true process. We designed it from scratch, but here’s what it looks like. So you have a conversation, you reach out and you connect with us. Someone on our team is going to take your information, put it into our system, and they’re going to run it down, and it’s going to end up with a phone call or some type of in-person meeting between you and one of our sales staff. Now, our sales staff is going to sit down and talk with you about different options and different possibilities. They’re going to look at some of the things you bring to us for inspiration. We’re going to show you our entire design catalog, and then we’re going to give you the option to onboard. So what is onboarding? So onboarding is a way for you, as a homeowner, to take a small baby step, and so that you can get a little bit more information and feel super confident before you’re ever obligated, under contract, or asked to sign, to build anything.
(00:54) – Because what we feel is we know we have a great product, we know it would be great for you and your family, but we need you to have that same level of confidence. So the way we do that is by onboarding. You pay your onboarding fee, you’re directly connected to us, you get access to our plans, you get to select a plan. If you decide that you want to modify that plan, you have the ability to work with our in-house architects and engineers to make those modifications. If you elect to go completely custom, you can. Sometimes that runs at a higher cost. Sometimes it’s the same cost. It just always takes a lot longer. So you get to work with our team and we can help navigate and guide you down whichever one of those paths you decide to go. Then once we have a final set of plans, we will coordinate with you a time to get together.
(01:36) – Maybe you come to one of our OBX events where we sit down and we go over everything in a group setting. We chart our buses in, we take you around the build sites, we give you cool Barndo swag. It’s a cool experience. Maybe your schedule isn’t a lot for that, and you end up in a one-on-one environment. That’s okay too. We’re going to sit down with you. We’re going to go over everything from the windows to the floors to the doors and more. And we’re going to allow you to select all those things through our showroom, through our catalog, and our entire design and specification process. Once all those selections have been made, we’re going to give you some preliminary numbers, and then we’re going to schedule a time to go out to your site and take a look at your land.
(02:10) – So we can do a couple of things. We can figure out what your utilities are looking like. We can figure out what the lay of the land is so we can calculate some grading costs. Maybe you need your land cleared. We can calculate the land clearing costs. Maybe you have a driveway that’s already there, or maybe you need one cut in. We can calculate the cost of what that’s going to be, because we have to provide a construction entrance. And then we can talk about all the various final driveway types that we have. But what we’re saying is in the onboarding process, we’re going to go over every detail, everything that you desire, your wants, your wishes, and then your needs. And we’re going to blend that together and create something that fits inside of your budget, inside of your timeframe, and then we’re going to deliver it to you in the form of a proposal. And then, and only then, when you have all the information, you have everything in front of you, you can make a selection and determine, is this the best move for you and your family? And at that time, sign, and only at that time, sign.

TJ Norris (00:01): What makes the Barndo Co super special to me is the fact that we were able to create something very unique, not only in the product we deliver, but the atmosphere that we deliver it in. And so our motto is that we turn impossible dreams into possible realities.
Ken Younce (00:16): It’s a team atmosphere. It’s the culture of family that all of us together are going to figure this thing out. Everyone’s accountable for their job. Reason they’re here is, number one, for the clients, and if everybody has that singular focus, then it makes their job really easy. Anytime you can be part of a team that is all dialed in towards the same goal, that’s what a team is, to be here you feel that from day one.
Shannon Piraino (00:39):
Coming here and talking to prospective clients are so excited to be like, “Oh, this is like an actual possibility. I can build my dream house.” So that’s really exciting. To be able to bring families from something they thought was impossible to a fulfilled dream.
Derek Butman (00:56): My mission is to make sure that I give that quality home to somebody, because I know what I would want moving into a home, especially a forever home. We stand behind our product. We’re going to make sure that at the end of the day, you have something you love. We’re all here, we’re all going to help in any way. Even if I don’t know the answer, I know somebody here who does.
Olivia Fattah (01:16): I really love the culture here. Everybody’s really great. Everybody helps each other, which has been awesome coming from different job positions where we didn’t really have that. Everybody has a lot of love for what we do here. A lot of love for the clients as well, and really giving them the best experience that we can.
Bobby Tomsfield (01:33): I’ve been dealing with home building and stuff like that for about 30 years. Definitely the customer comes first. You know what I’m saying? That’s why I’m in the position I am is because I like that one-on-one with the customer. They’re family too now, they’re part of it. So I want to be a good advocate for them. That’s important to me. That’s what I strive to do with this company and these customers.
Tatiana Newsom (01:54): Why do I love being a part of the Barndominium family? Barndo is a great place to work. Everyone here is very energetic, on their toes about giving people what they need and what they desire and helping people out, which is one of our top goals, is giving back. So we love that and we’re here to help anyone.
Ross Ledford (02:12): It’s super humbling to be at the leadership position and to be able to say, “Hey, this isn’t the Ross and TJ show anymore. This is everybody. This is Barndo Co. This is the Barndo family.”
TJ Norris (02:25): At the end of the day, what I hope everyone will realize about the Barndo Co is that we’re not just here to build as many barns as possible. We are very dedicated to each individual barn because each one of those is not just a number on the board and a name on the board, but it’s a specific family and that family’s forever a part of our family. We’re just there for 6 to 12 months of that barn story, that family will be there for generations, and that thing will be honed to an amazing amount of stories. So I just want people to know like we’re committed to the journey, not just building, buying and moving on.
